COTABATO CITY (October 25, 2025) — Two motorists died immediately while six others, including three minors, were injured in a highway accident involving a motorcycle and two four-wheeled vehicles in Barangay Magon in Tantangan, South Cotabato on Thursday, October 24.

Officials of the Tantangan Municipal Police Station told reporters on Saturday, October 25, that the two fatalities, Joerhen Jade Losario and Rhiam Jade Palomo, who were riding a motorcycle together that collided head-on with a Suzuki Swift driven by an employee of the Department of Education based in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, were both declared dead on arrival at a hospital where emergency responders brought them for treatment.

Losario and Palomo, both 23 years old, have just graduated from the criminology college of the Sultan Kudarat State University in Tacurong City, not too distant from the scene of the accident in Purok Boundary in Barangay Magon in Tantangan.

The Suzuki Swift that rammed the Honda NMAX Losario and Palomo were riding together also hit a Toyota Rush from the opposite direction of the highway, according to municipal and barangay officials who responded to the incident.

Losario’s motorcycle went ablaze and was totally burned due to the impact of its collision with the Suzuki Swift.

The drivers of the Toyota Rush and the Suzuki Swift and its four passengers, one of them also an employee of DepED in Misamis Oriental province in Region 10, and three adolescent girls, sustained wounds and contusions in different parts of their bodies.
