The curtains have officially closed on the Batang Pinoy 2025 National Championships, held in General Santos City, South Cotabato, where thousands of young Filipino athletes proved that grit, discipline, and passion remain the lifeblood of grassroots sports in the Philippines.
Hosted by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) in partnership with the Local Government of General Santos City, this year’s Batang Pinoy gathered over 18,000 delegates from 188 local government units across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. For one week, the city buzzed with energy as young competitors showcased their skills in 27 sports disciplines, including swimming, athletics, arnis, basketball, boxing, gymnastics, taekwondo, judo, karate, chess, dancesport, cycling, futsal, weightlifting, wushu, and more.
Among the event highlights were record-breaking performances by hometown athletes like Christian Isaiah Lagnason of General Santos City, who dominated the boys’ 12–13 swimming division; Calvin Quinn Posadas of Davao City, who secured another judo gold; and Psalm Pampag of Bacolod City, who sprinted her way to victory in the 200-meter dash.
In the overall standings, the City of Manila, Pasig City, and Baguio City led the medal tally, followed closely by Zamboanga City and General Santos City, proving that the country’s athletic excellence extends from north to south.
The event was also supported by key partners and venue sponsors, including Robinsons Gensan, which hosted several activities and gatherings throughout the competition. Media coverage and updates were amplified by Bombo Radyo stations, local news outlets, and the official Batang Pinoy communication team, ensuring that every victory and milestone reached audiences nationwide.
To commemorate the event, NSJ News created a special video compilation featuring the most inspiring and emotional moments of Batang Pinoy 2025 — from opening ceremonies to the final medal rounds. The video draws from publicly available footage and photos from LGU General Santos City, Bombo Radyo, the PSC, Robinsons Gensan, and Batang Pinoy’s official sources.
