Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 arrested four individuals together sniffing shabu in a clandestine drug den in Barangay Lanao in Kidapawan City in Region 12 that they raided on Thursday, July 24.

Local executives and barangay leaders, among them senior members of the multi-sector Kidapawan City Peace and Order Council, confirmed to reporters on Friday, July 25, that the PDEA-12 agents and policemen involved in the raid found P234,600 worth of shabu in the drug den of the four suspects.

Benjamin Recites III, director of PDEA-12, had told reporters that the four men are now locked in a detention facility, to be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Under state laws, operation of a drug den is a non-bailable offense.

Villagers had confirmed that the four suspects had facilitated pot sessions in their drug den in Bartolaba Subdivision in Purok Rambutan in Barangay Lanao, from where they sold shabu to local contacts.

Recites said the raid that resulted in the arrest and subsequent detention of the four suspects was carried out with the help of different units of the Police Regional Office-12 and the office of Kidapawan City Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista.
