COTABATO CITY (October 31, 2025) — Three individuals discreetly selling shabu near school campuses and in bus terminals, were arrested in separate entrapment operations by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in two southern cities in just two days.

The first to fall in the two PDEA operations is a female narcotics trafficker, entrapped on Tuesday, October 28, in Purok Agan in East Phase 1 in Barangay Santa Cruz, Koronadal City in South Cotabato province.

Charlene Magdurulang, director of PDEA-12, told reporters on Thursday, October 29, that the woman yielded peacefully when she sensed that she had sold P108,800 worth of shabu to their agents and anti-narcotics operatives from units under Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente, director of the Police Regional Office-12.

The operation that led to her arrest was premised on reports by local executives and school administrators about her circulation of shabu, with the help of contacts, near school campuses in Koronadal City, the capital of Region 12, and in South Cobato’s nearby Banga, Surallah, Tupi, T’boli, Lake Sebu and Tantangan towns.

Two male shabu peddlers were arrested in a subsequent entrapment operation on Wednesday, October 29, by PDEA-9 agents in Dipolog City in Region 9.

PDEA-9 agents entrapped the duo in Barangay Miputak in Dipolog City with the help of vigilant city officials and barangay leaders who reported their clandestine peddling of shabu and marijuana near schools and in public transportation terminals in Dipolog City and in municipalities around.

Bryan Babang, director of PDEA-9, said the two suspects were immediately frisked and cuffed after selling to their agents P204,000 worth of shabu during a tradeoff at their hideout in Barangay Miputak.

Babang said he is thankful to the director of the PRO-9, Police Brigadier Gen. Eleazar Matta, for supporting the entrapment operation that led to the arrest of the two male drug dealers and confiscation from them of 30 grams of shabu, costing P204,000.
